An emblematic historical Certina Diver, the DS PH500m was brought back a few months ago with a cool vivid orange dial and accordion rubber strap. Citizen Promaster Mechanical Diver 200m NB6004

The new 46mm dive beast by Citizen comes in a lightweight titanium case treated with Citizen’s Duratect hardening technology and water-resistant to 200m. The unidirectional diving bezel features a knurled pattern and raised digits, and it is partially shrouded by the case and has trapezoidal-shaped indentations for maximum grip. The automatic movement is the calibre 9051 running at 4Hz and with 42 hours of power reserve.

Presented this spring, this new version of the Khaki Scuba comes in a 43mm steel case with a unidirectional rotating bezel fitted with a ceramic insert. The crown and caseback are screw-down, and the watch is water-resistant to 300m. The automatic Hamilton H-10 calibre is basically the brand’s version of the Powermatic 80, the reliable Swatch Group movement standing out with its 80-hour power reserve. Just like for the Certina above, its Nivachron balance spring is amagnetic.

Jacques Bianchi JB200

With his workshop next to Marseille’s port, Jacques Bianchi has known Jacques Mayol and Captain Cousteau and his second-in-command Albert Falco, and repaired most of the Rolex watches of the Comex divers. He also created his own brand and, in particular, a diver’s watch (1982) recognisable thanks to the large silhouette of a frogman on its dial. It measured 42mm and had a so-called “destro” profile. The model now resurfaces on Kickstarter in a modernised version equipped with a Seiko NH35 automatic movement and in an affordable package.

In the frame of the brand’s initiatives to protect the environment, Seiko has recently released “Save the Ocean Antartica” special edition watches including this Prospex Baby Tuna. The model stands out with its textured ice-blue gradient dial. The emblematic Seiko case comes in a 43mm diameter. The crown, positioned at 4 o’clock, screws down and water-resistance is rated at 200m. It features a Hardlex crystal and the movement is the automatic 4R35 calibre with 41 hours of power reserve.
