Realizing that we, as a species, on our little planet Earth, are mere specs in the endless vacuum of space baffles one’s mind. There are billions of stars in billions of galaxies scattered far beyond our reach. And as we venture deeper into space, the notion that the galaxy ends with the Earth, Moon, Sun, and a few other planets and stars, is being turned upside down. Trying to capture the essence of this vast emptiness of space, MeisterSinger introduces the Stratoscope INT Edition.

As we reported earlier this year, the MeisterSinger Stratoscope is a reasonably large albeit well-built watch. To us, its proportions suit the oversized moon phase a bit better than the MeisterSinger Lunascope, the German brand released in 2018. With the better use of space on the dial, the photorealistic and luminescent moons pop out even more against the then gradient black-to-blue background.

The MeisterSinger Stratoscope INT Edition, with its black attire, encapsulates the notion of our seemingly endless and ever-expanding universe even better. The case has been given a full DLC coating in black, and the dial is an intense deep blue instead of a combination of black and blue. The contrast with the white outer hour/minute track, the typical double-digit hour numerals and the single elongated hand is as strong as possible.

The moon phase module for the MeisterSinger Stratoscope is the brand’s development and sits atop a Sellita SW 220 automatic movement. The moon phase indication is precise enough to require only one correction every 122 years. The Sellita SW220 base movement powering the MeisterSinger Stratoscope can be seen through the back and offers standard specifications: 26 jewels, 28,800vph, 38 hours of power reserve, blued screws, and perlage finishing. It displays central time through a single hand and the date.

The MeisterSinger Stratoscope INT Edition is limited to 20 pieces, comes on a black vintage-style leather strap and retails for EUR 3,990. It will be available by the end of October.
