The New Bulgari Octo l’Originale Velocissimo Chronograph in Full Titanium
Born from a distinctive perception of elegance, the Octo is a perfect illustration of Bulgari’s Italian design flair and expertise in creating fascinating-shaped watches. Right from its introduction in 2012, its faceted, octagonal case has imposed its strength and personality, becoming an instant classic. With a modernized design and materials for 2018, here is the Bulgari Octo l’Originale Velocissimo Chronograph.
Bulgari’s mighty Octo Finissimo Trilogy is a unique asset to the brand giving designers free rein to explore their creativity. As part of the pre-Baselworld 2018 collection, Bulgari has unveiled a new version of the Octo Chronograph l’Originale Velocissimo in titanium, consolidating the fundamentals of the Octo in a new stealth and technical version.
The titanium version exhibits warmth and class. A no fuss, no frills, just pure design watch. It stands out with its dynamic monochromatic exterior exuding a powerful, masculine appeal.
This stylish chronograph is powered by Bulgari’s self-winding caliber BLV328 Veloccissimo, which is none other than Zenith’s legendary El Primero – a high-grade integrated construction with a column-wheel and horizontal clutch. This version of the high-frequency Zenith chronograph is regulated with a silicon escapement. Beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour/5 Hz, it allows for the precision measurement of 1/10 of a second (Velocissimo means “very fast” in Italian). The power reserve is 50 hours. Visible through the exhibition case back, the intricate movement displays an openwork rotor and elegant finishes including Geneva stripes, perlage and anglage.
The multifaceted case is 41mm in diameter but feels much larger because of its shape and profile. A tachymeter scale on the bezel completes the sporty, virile look. On the wrist, the appearance and fit are remarkable. The angular case features fantastic finishing all around, which can really be appreciated in this titanium model – a notoriously difficult metal to work. The chronograph pushers are seamlessly integrated into the case profile and the crown is adorned with a ceramic inlay. The sapphire case back is secured with pentagonal screws and the watch is water-resistant to 10 ATM.
The modernity and purity of the design are enhanced by the clean design of the dial with a matte finish that nicely matches the case. The signature baton-style hour markers and elongated Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock are paired with openwork dauphine-style hands.
The Octo l’Originale Chronograph is worn on a large, tapered alligator leather (or rubber) strap integrated to the case, with no stitching. It is secured with a folding buckle ensuring a comfortable fit. For more information, please visit www.bulgari.com.

The date window at four o’clock destroys the symmetry and beauty of the watch.
