The Carl F. Bucherer Manero Flyback Now in Green

It doesn’t seem the green trend is letting up any time soon; countless brands are releasing green coloured variations in their existing collections. Next in line is Carl F. Bucherer new take on the brand’s powerful bi-register flyback chronograph, now decked out shades of olive green. In the five years since the collection was first introduced, this handsome model marks the thirteenth iteration of the Manero Flyback. Presenting the new Carl F. Bucherer Manero Flyback Green.

Trends come and go, but the green revolution seems quite persistent. You don’t hear us complain, though, as it has resulted in some very cool watches in the process. It’s just that simply decking out an existing watch in green and calling it a day doesn’t always cut it. The tone of green is quite tricky to get right, and Carl F. Bucherer has put some thought into what shade of green to use for this new Manero Flyback.

It uses the existing Manero Flyback as a starting point, so we are dealing with a 43mm wide and 14.45mm tall bi-register chronograph watch. Classic pump-style pushers for the chronograph accompany a robust, knurled crown. On top, there’s a boxed sapphire crystal (explaining the height) with an anti-reflective coating. A sapphire crystal caseback covers the back.

The dial of the Carl F. Bucherer Manero Flyback already carries a lot of vintage charm. New in the collection is this olive green combination, which looks very appealing. Other than the colour, nothing changes. There are still many textures and finishes, a bi-compax layout, a tachymeter scale on the outer perimeter (in white) and openworked Dauphine-style hands. The chronograph seconds hand is red for a bit of sporty contrast.

Carl F. Bucherer has worked together with La Joux-Perret to create a proprietary movement for the Manero Flyback. The calibre CFB 1970 is an integrated automatic chronograph movement with column wheel and flyback functionality. The decoration is nicely done and running at 4Hz; it has a power reserve of 42 hours.

The Carl F. Bucherer Manero Flyback Green is worn on a tone-on-tone olive green textile strap with a stainless steel folding clasp. It retails for EUR 5,500.
