The Hamilton Ventura has been featured in the movie Men in Black, ever since the first of the sequel. Now the latest sequel has just hit the movie theaters, Hamilton launches a limited edition of the Vantura XXL especially for Men in Black 3.

The Ventura has an incredibly rich history since it was launched, in January 1957. In fact it was the very first battery powered watch ever available for the public, as we wrote in an extensive article about the Ventura’s rich history and unique design.

Although the original was released as the first battery powered wrist watch available for public, this (much) larger Ventura XXL has an ETA 2824-2, a mechanical automatic movement that is widely used by many watch brands. This is a polished stainless steel version of the Ventura XXL that was originally released as an all-black version to commemorate what would have been Elvis Presley’s 75th birthday (see for more history our article about the Hamilton Ventura).

Here’s a cool trailer of the watch and/or movie for you to enjoy.

The Ventura XXL measures 46 mm by 45.5 mm, although it’s difficult to compare that size to round or square watches, due to its triangular shapes. The photo below shows the new Ventura XXL for MIB 3 besides a version from 1969. The similarities in looks are clear… only the size and movement differ quite a bit.

The new Ventura XXL for M.I.B. 3 is limited to 999 pieces and is available for $ 1,345 USD.
