Hands-On with the Latest Versions of the Cool Brellum Duobox Chronograph (Inc. a New Power Reserve Version)
Sebastien Muller started Brellum in December 2016 with the presentation of the Duobox, an elegant stop-watch which offered excellent value for money. This handsome, retro-inspired chronograph is really nicely executed, powered by the reliable Valjoux 7750, and coming with a COSC certificate – All this at a very reasonable price, as this small independent brand sells direct-to-customer with no middlemen. Brellum has recently unveiled two new chronographs that keep the essential elements of the Duobox but simultaneously add a slightly different vibe.
The Brellum Duobox Chronograph with Brown Dial
The first one is brown-dialed Duobox, worn on a brown leather strap finished off with contrast white stitch. The combination of the practical functionality of the watch with the new dial and strap makes for a really distinctive watch. The dial has soft reflections and the play of light adds a lot of depth. The strap is made of soft calf leather whose colour tends to change as the strap ages. Normally, I am not one to get too adventurous with coloured dials but this one really works for me.
The watch is also available on a Milanese bracelet. All other specs are identical to the existing Duobox models, so head on over to our introductory article about the brand for more information. The watch retails at CHF 2,390 on a leather strap and CHF 2,450 on a bracelet, just like similar models.
The Brellum Duobox Power Gauge LE.2 Ghost
The second new model unveiled by Brellum is a black-on-black limited edition that proves that dressing in black is a no-fail option. Combining a steel-DLC case, a dial with contrasting markers and a rugged black fabric strap, it is modern, sporty but not about flash and rather about stealth.
One of the other specificities of this limited edition is its movement, the calibre BR-750-PR. Like the other Duobox Chronograph, it is based on the tried-and-tested Valjoux 7750, but with the addition of a power reserve indication. The rotor is presented in black and bears the individual limited edition number. It is the second time that Sébastien Muller presents a limited edition with this movement displaying the power reserve.
As with the rest of the line-up, the retro-inspired case is 41.8 mm in diameter although it feels a tad smaller on the wrist. It features mushroom-type push-pieces and domed scratch-resistant glare-proofed box sapphire crystals on both sides of the watch.
The Brellum Duobox Power Gauge LE.2 Ghost comes on a sporty fabric strap (Nebur tec) and is secured with a folding buckle. The watch is delivered with a complimentary NATO rubber strap. Priced at CHF 3,120, and only 13 pieces will be manufactured. For more information, please visit www.brellum.swiss.

Lot of literature on dial. A stupid mistake, because the watch looks nive.
Excellent price point, good competitor to Sinn, etc
Interesting. I would think Brellum could sell more than 13 of these for such a handsome watch, and still labeled a “Limited Edition.”
