When Hautlence introduced the HL2 is was blown away. I thought I had seen some impressive horological masterpieces, but the HL2 offered such a visual treat and an intriguing challenge at the same time. You simple want to see everything move, rotate and you want to understand how it works!

This is one of the timepieces that I covered frequently. Based on the first prototype I explained it extensively here, and later again when the final version was released in red and white gold. Today Hautlence introduces a new, third, version named HL2.3 that is executed in black coated titanium.

For those unfamiliar with the HL2, centrally positioned is a retrograde minute indicator and the hours are indicated by a chain with numerals that jump each hour. The HL2 features Hautlence’s first in-house movement, which is automatically wound and has the most sexy escapement that I’ve ever seen in a wrist watch.

The new black coated titanium HL2.3 comes at a retail price of 180,000 CHF (including tax).
