HYT H1 Dracula DLC Edition – beware of the vampire

The HYT H1 is available in various editions, from the first introduced in titanium with a green liquid, to the very cool all-white Iceberg edition with a blue fluid. Recently, we had the chance to spend some wrist-time with one of the most extreme edition, the HYT H1 Red2. And surprisingly, it seems that every colour combination suits this unique watch. Here is another example of this versatility, the HYT H1 Dracula DLC Edition.

HYT H1 Dracula - 4

The HYT H1 Dracula is inspired by the most famous vampire of the classical literature, the Count Dracula. To fulfill the spirit of this novel written by Bram Stoker and the gothic atmosphere that it shows, HYT has chosen a full-black DLC coating on the case, enliven by several bloody-red accents. The fluid also shares that same colour, identically to the HYT H1 Red2 that we reviewed for you. The dial uses that same monochromatic idea with a dark grey finish.

Bloody-red accents can be found on the second-wheel, the power-reserve indicator and the crown. The strap features a very cool black alligator leather with red veins. The movement is now coated in black too instead of a rhodium plated treatment on the other editions. We also note a little evolution of the central dial that shows the minutes, with bigger indexes, always coated with luminescent material. We can expect a better night-time legibility.

Technically, The HYT H1 Dracula DLC Edition still relies on the complicated and innovative fluidic system. Around the dial sits a capillary filled with two liquids (a red one and a translucent one) that moves thanks to two bellows that compress to make the liquids moves from 6 to 18, and then go back to the initial position (simply speaking, it works as a retrograde hand). As usual, the back of the watch shows the very well finished and beautifully displayed movement. All the technical details and explanations can be found here.

Once again, HYT presents an unusual and un-compromised watch. And once again, it looks surprisingly cool. You wouldn’t expect a watch with a blue case and a light green fluid running around its dial to look cool? With HYT it does – see the Alumen Blue edition of the H1 here. And the same goes for that black and red edition.

The HYT H1 Dracula DLC Edition is limited to 50 pieces, priced at € 54.000 Euros and available exclusively at Harrods, London.
