Introducing the HYT H2 Aviator, a bold vision of a pilot watch (specs & price)
Whatever the model we’re talking about, HYT, the Hydro-Mechanical Horologist, are known for their fluidic complication, where time is not displayed by a classical hand but by a liquid running in a capillary. The brand is used to create limited editions, mainly by playing with the liquid colors and the case materials. For their latest release, aviation is the center of the game. Say hello to the HYT H2 Aviator.
Don’t expect any revolution in the technical aspect here. The HYT H2 Aviator is 100% similar to the classical H2, with its fully open-worked movement and the typical V-shaped bellows – that are so easily recognizable and über-cool. It is still a massive watch at 48.8mm, with its case made of black DLC titanium. However, having been wearing this watch for quite a long period, I can assure you that it remains wearable. If you want to go deeper into the technical side of the HYT H2, take a look at the in-depth review we made a few months ago.
In the same vein as classical pilot watches, the HYT H2 Aviator was designed with flight instruments and maximum legibility in mind. The path and the colour of the minute hand has been redrawn with its quarter hour indexes enlarged and in red. The central hand now has a large arrow shape (and it’s filled with luminous paint). The crown position indicator (H-N-R) located at 3pm is visible via a window that displays the selected function. Finally, the 12 hour indexes are now executed in grey anthracite Super-LumiNova, for an improved nighttime readability.

The latest of the updates is a new strap to match the aviation concept. This wrist-band features red stitching to match the minute hand and is covered with Kevlar (an aramid synthetic fibre with high tensile strength and temperate resistance). The HYT H2 Aviator is a limited edition of 40 pieces and will be available in October 2015. Price: To be revealed but expect approximately 120.000 Euros to 130.000 Euros.
