Interview with Jérôme Lambert, CEO of Montblanc
Just before this year’s SIHH started we had the chance to sit down with Jérôme Lambert, CEO of Montblanc. We’re talking with him about the third new collection that the brand launched since he joined the manufacture, in July of 2013, the integration of the two Montblanc manufactures and the brand new e-Strap that was launched on January 1st of this year.
As of July 2013 Jérôme Lambert joined the German luxury brand and immediately you could feel there was someone else at the helm. In the 1,5 years he has been with Montblanc, they have launched three entirely new collection: last year’s Meisterstück Heritage collection (which has been renamed to Heritage Spirit collection as of this year), the Bohème collection and the new Heritage Chronométrie collection that we’re covering (extensively) during these days, live from the SIHH.
Another thing that surprised me already last year, was to see a first step towards integrating the two Montblanc manufactures in Le Locle and Villeret. Two worlds apart, which are being united now, and also the Montblanc leather atelier in Florence, Italy, is being involved in Montblanc’s watchmaking business, and now they are delivering the leather straps for the Heritage Chronométrie collection (among others). The brand is in motion, and many things are happening behind the screens. Usually we just get to see the new collections, but since there’s so much going on we’ll gonna cover that in another interview, with Montblanc’s director of watch, Alexander Schmiedt.

There must be a site issue at the moment, I find no interview with Mr. Lambert. Looking forward to reading it soon.
