Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro Italia

Tuscany-based designer Giuliano Mazzuoli has never made a secret of his patriotism. But with his latest creation, he takes things to another level. In honour of the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Italy, and to support his country in these vastly difficult times, he presents the limited edition “Manometro Italia.”

When Giuliano Mazzuoli joined the world watchmaking stage, he was quickly noticed. Not by the entire world, but mostly by people who like their watches a bit differently. Mazzuoli started life as a designer and he’s created all kinds of things – from notebooks to pens. Like many Italians, he loves cars. So it was only logical for him that the inspiration for his first watch also came from the world of cars. The name of the piece was the Manometro, and it showed clear design cues from a hand pump made for car tyres. It was introduced in 2005.

In the following 15 years, watchmaking and his Manometro model turned out to be the perfect blackboard for Mazzuoli’s creativity. More variations followed, like this watch with a cement case or this anniversary piece. This time around, he has made it even more expressive.

Tricolore galore

Giuliano Mazzuoli lives and works in the village Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, which is located in Tuscany, close to Florence. He has always taken pride of his Italian roots, but this piece takes it to another level. The seriously large (45mm x 14mm) case is made of steel and it has epoxy resins in the colours of the Italian flag. Epoxy resin is a coating that is used in a wide array of products. With this Italian Tricolore, Mazzuoli has created a watch that is sure to stir some emotions. The dial is available in black or white.

Like most of Mazzuoli’s creations, the watch is powered by the well-known ETA cal. 2824. The strap of the watch is handcrafted in Tuscany and available in either black or white leather.

Price and availability

Celebrating the 75th anniversary of a free Italy, the all-Italian piece will in all probability only produced for a short time only. Only 365 pieces will be produced. The watch is not (yet) available through the regular sales channels. It is available on a pre-order basis by emailing [email protected] and priced at USD 3,500.
