Introducing the H. Moser & Cie Venturer Small Second Bucherer Edition (blue fumé dial)
We recently showed you the two models of the Venturer collection by H. Moser and Cie. The latest presented was a very nice Tourbillon (the first one of the brand) with a dual time complication. Before that, during Baselworld 2014, we had some hands-on times with the classical edition of this collection, the Venturer Small Second. This is the latter that H. Moser chose to pay tribute to the famous retailer Bucherer, with the colour blue as a motto. Welcome the H. Moser & Cie Venturer Small Second Bucherer Edition, with its blue fumé dial… but not only!
What’s make the H. Moser timepieces so attractive? Alongside their nicely finished movements and delicate cases, the main feature might be the fumé dials – with a gradient colour, darker on the sides. Using the Venturer Small Second as a base, H. Moser is creating a non-limited edition only available in the Bucherer stores (Switzerland, Germany and Austria only). Two specificities are clearly visible on this watch: a 18k white gold case (the normal edition was only available in 18K red gold) and a midnight blue fumé dial, with a radial sunburst pattern. That creates an elegant and more cold design (certainly more discreet), compare to the warm atmosphere of the red gold editions. The H. Moser & Cie Venturer Small Second Bucherer Edition could have stopped here. But there is another very cool feature hidden in the movement.
In order to complete the blue theme, H. Moser created a specific blue balance wheel and hairspring that adds an extra layer of detail and exclusivity to this special edition. It has nothing revolutionary but it is quite a nice move. For the rest, the caliber HMC 327 remains the same than the classical H. Moser & Cie Venturer Small Second. It is a nicely finished movement – Moser Stripes, hand-finished bevelled angles, large jewels, interesting layout of the bridges – with a manual winding mechanism, a 3-day power reserve and the in-house Moser balance wheel and Straumann® Hairspring. It keeps the practical the Moser interchangeable escapement beating at 18.000vph, that simplifies the service operations, a silicon anchor and escape wheel and a hacking second feature.
The shape of the watch also remains the same, with its nice curved lines, its bombé dial and sapphire crystal and the convex case bands. The hands and applied indexes are made in the same metal as the case, 18K white gold. It is reasonably sized watch at 39mm. The blue colour of the dial, mixed with the white gold case, brings a more discreet and cold scheme. However the fumé finish is adding some originality.
