With just 100 days to go until the Olympics, Tokyo is still facing uncertainties on how exactly the games will happen. Still, the Olympic flame is finally on its way across Japan and for the 29th time in history, Omega is gearing up to be the official timekeeper of the event with the release of a new dedicated timepiece, a special edition created for the occasion. Meet the new Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Tokyo 2020.

Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Tokyo 2020 - 522.30.42.20.04.001

The new special edition watch is based on the classic 42mm Seamaster 300M. A nod to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem, the model features a special colour theme. Its steel case is fitted with a blue ceramic bezel, which incorporates white enamel diving markings. With its signature wave laser-engraved pattern, its dial comes in pristine white ceramic paired with blued indexes and hands, all filled with white Super-LumiNova.

Besides the new colour theme of this Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Tokyo 2020, the association with the event is discreet, with only a “Tokyo 2020” transfer on the caseback’s sapphire crystal – meaning no mention of the Games on the dial or the case. Under the hood is the self-winding Calibre 8800, with Co-Axial escapement. As a certified Master Chronometer, it is resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000-gauss. Fitted with a free-sprung balance and a silicon balance spring, it is finished with rhodium-plated bridges with Geneva waves in arabesque.
