Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 XXL

Girard-Perregaux has just introduced new executions of the Vintage 1945 XXL Large Date & Moon-Phases and the Vintage 1945 XXL Chronograph. Both models that are already in the collection, are now available with a very striking charcoal grey dial with vertical satin finishing and a new bracelet.

The Vintage 1945 XXL Chronograph was entirely updated at the end of 2012 – we showed you the comparison with the previous model here – and transformed from tri-compax to bi-compax chronograph. The new charcoal grey dial was already available on the Vintage 1945 (the smaller sized version) and the Vintage 1945 XXL Small Seconds, and with this update it is available on all steel models from the Vintage 1945 collection.

Both models are now also available on a bracelet that can be adjusted in length by a a folding triple steel clasp equipped with a security catch. The center links are satin finished and the links on either side are polished. Personally I like the ergonomic fit of the Vintage 1945 collection, because of its curved case back that is shaped to nicely fit the wrist.

Inside both models ticks the base caliber GP 3300; in each version with a different module for either the large date and moon phase indications or for the chronograph with two registers. The automatically wound movement is visible through a sapphire crystal in the case back and is entirely designed, manufactured and assembled in the firm’s workshops at La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland.
