Norqain Adventure Sport Chrono NHLPA
Steel on ice!
At the beginning of 2020, young independent brand Norqain announced it had entered a two-year partnership with the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA). As a matter of fact, Norqain Board member, Stanley Cup winner and Swiss hockey legend Mark Streit, and Roman Josi, three-time NHL All-Star player, «Norris Trophy» winner and captain of the Nashville Predators, have been actively involved in the brand’s development from day one. Their commitment has been a key factor in Norqain’s entry into ice hockey. In honour of this sporty alliance, Norqain now launches a limited-edition watch, the Adventure Sport Chrono NHLPA.
To celebrate this partnership, Norqain elected its Adventure Sport model, with chronograph function. For the occasion, the white dial surface mimics the scratched surface of the ice rink. The small seconds indicator at 9 o’clock is inspired by the hockey face-off area. The NHLPA logo is transferred in the 6 o’clock chronograph counter.
The Norqain Adventure Sport Chrono NHLPA is presented in a 41mm 316L steel case. Its knurled rotating bezel is fitted with a blue aluminium insert matching the colour of the 3 and 6 o’clock chronograph sub-dials. The crown screws down and water-resistance is rated 100m, fairly good for a chronograph. Like for all Norqain watches, there is a steel plaque on the side of the case that can be engraved to personalise your watch.
The exhibition caseback is also emblazoned with the metalized NHLPA logo and provides a view of the Norqain calibre NN18. This automatic chronograph movement is the classic 3-6-9 layout version of the tried-and-tested 7750. As such, it is an integrated cam-and-lever chronograph movement running at 28,800 vibrations per hour and with 48 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The date can be quickly set via a push-button at 10.
Presented on a blue rubber strap, the Norqain Adventure Sport Chrono NHLPA is limited to 500 pieces and is priced at CHF 3,290. The watch will be delivered with an exclusive NHLPA X NORQAIN hockey puck.
