Introducing – Oris GMT Rega Limited Edition
Last year, Oris introduced their first watch made in partnership with Rega, a private, non-profit air rescue service that provides emergency medical assistance in Switzerland. Based on the powerful and unique Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter, we even tested it right where it should be, in the Swiss mountains. Today, Oris presents the Oris GMT Rega Limited Edition, the second watch made in support of the partnership with Rega – and still a powerful, tool-ish purpose built-watch.
The first Oris watch made in association with Rega was focusing on the altitude, with its mechanical Altimeter function (something that is really unique to Oris), as Rega often provides emergency medical assistance to the Swiss Alps, explaining the need for the air rescue service crew members (helicopter pilots and doctors) to have a watch displaying the altitude. However, this is not the only field of action for Rega. They indeed repatriated 869 people from all over the world through its 24-hour repatriation service with their ambulance jets. That’s why this second edition with Rega turns the spotlight onto another function, the GMT.
The new Oris GMT Rega Limited Edition has a second time-zone display, indicated by a 24-hour central hand, a function chosen in partnership with Rega jet pilots and to represent the worldwide service they offer across all time zones. This also explains why this new watch is based on the Big Crown Pro-Pilot GMT Small-Second, a solid, reliable and powerful pilot’s watch. Compared to the standard edition, the Oris GMT Rega features a different case, here coated in matt gunmetal-grey PVD to offset cockpit glare, and features an oversized crown for a quick time, date and second time-zone adjustment. The 45mm case is made out of stainless steel and features the signature fluted bezel of the Pro-Pilot collection.
The dial of this Oris GMT Rega Limited Edition is also specific, with the addition of the Rega logo at 3 and the use of red for contrasting accents (instead of yellow on the standard edition), for the tip of the GMT hand and the GMT inscription. Here presented in matte black, it will offer a great contrast with the large luminous indexes and hands, as well as avoiding glare. Time is centrally indicated, with a small second at 9 and a date at 3. The GMT function relies on a large and legible central hand, combined with a 24-hour peripheral track. This Rega version of the Oris GMT is secured to the wrist by a solid textile strap in grey, lined with red leather as a nod to the service’s corporate colour. It also features the stainless steel folding clasp shaped like an airplane seatbelt buckle (safe and fast).
The Oris GMT Rega Limited Edition is powered by Calibre 748, an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW 220-1 (an ETA clone), with Oris’ proprietary GMT / small-second module on top. It ticks at 4Hz, offers 38h of power reserve and all adjustments are done by the crown. The movement isn’t visible here, as it is enclosed behind a specially embossed case-back, with the Rega logo.
The Oris GMT Rega Limited Edition will be produced in 2,000 pieces, delivered in a special presentation case. Retail price is CHF 2,550 – EUR 2,550. More details on oris.ch.

Hello Dave,
Thank for your interest, however, we don’t sell watches. We’re a watch magazine that talks about watches and reviews some watches. If you are interested in buying this watch, please contact Oris directly or your nearest dealer (list here https://www.oris.ch/en/store-locator)
I am planning to buy the Oris rega limited but wanted to know where or how can I adjust the strap. I have a very small wrist.
