Panerai Luminor Marina Titanio/DLC Bucherer BLUE (Live Pics)
Blue-over-black for a bold "Bucherer BLUE" edition.
Being the largest watch retailer over the world, Swiss-based company Bucherer has enough influence to do things its own way… And that means creating its own, personalised watches, manufactured by some of the most prestigious brands around, and themed after a concept named “Bucherer BLUE”. After multiple editions, including IWC, Longines, Breguet, GO or Oris, it is now time for Bucherer to have its own Panerai watch – in fact, the second of its type made with the Florentine manufacture. Meet the new Panerai Luminor Marina Titanio/DLC Bucherer BLUE.
Who is Bucherer?
Bucherer is a Swiss-based, privately owned company whose history dates back to 1888 when merchant and entrepreneur Carl-Friedrich Bucherer opened the first specialist watch and jewellery store in Lucerne. As business grew, Bucherer became one of the first Rolex retailers in 1924 and remains Bucherer’s most important partner. After WWII, the business continued to grow and the family-owned company opened branches in other Swiss towns and tourist destinations.
In Switzerland, Bucherer acquired the Kurz Group in 1989, and in 2001, Swiss Lion AG. The separate company Carl F. Bucherer was also founded in 2001, continuing the Bucherer family’s watchmaking tradition that stretches back to 1919. In 2013, Bucherer opened the world’s largest watch and jewellery store in Paris – a must-see if you’re visiting Paris and love watches. Four more boutiques in London were added to the company portfolio with the acquisition of The Watch Gallery in 2017, and in January 2018, Bucherer took over the American luxury watch retailer Tourneau, which has 28 stores across the US. Since this date, Bucherer is known as the world’s largest watch retailer.
Having such a wide range of boutiques, Bucherer started to create its own “Bucherer BLUE” collection, which has now expanded to cover all sorts of timepieces, from Longines and Oris to Breguet or Vacheron Constantin. The latest is the Luminor Marina Titanio/DLC, which you’ll see in a few. Also, Bucherer recently launched its Certified Pre-Owned Program.
the new Panerai Luminor Marina Titanio/DLC
Bucherer’s latest collaboration watch under the “Bucherer BLUE” umbrella is a black-and-blue take on Panerai’s iconic Luminor watch – a watch that is based on the classic Luminor Marina PAM01312 (Acciaio) and PAM01351 (Titanio). In this instance, the new Panerai Luminor Marina Titanio/DLC is housed in a 44mm case, with the classic proportions and shapes of this model. It features the trademark crown protection and locking device.
Unique to this “Bucherer BLUE” edition, the watch is made of titanium and has received a black DLC coating all over its case, for a deep black result – something that the brand doesn’t offer in its standard collection, as most black watches are made of ceramic. For a more robust look, the case is entirely brushed. To reinforce this bold design, Bucherer has opted for a casual anthracite denim bracelet with beige stitching. Also, note that a black rubber strap, with a strap-changing tool, is included in the presentation box.
This new Panerai Luminor Marina Titanio/DLC being part of the “Bucherer BLUE” collection, it had to feature this signature colour on its dial. For the occasion, the two partners have developed a new (and stylish) blue sandwich dial with vertical satin stripes. The plate underneath the dial is covered in vintage-inspired beige Super-LumiNova. The date wheel at 3 o’clock relies on the same colour scheme and the hands are blackened.
Powering this watch, and behind a special caseback, is the Panerai manufacture calibre P.9010, an automatic movement with central rotor and 3-day power reserve thanks to two barrels. This movement is a modern engine that beats at 4Hz and that displays central hours and minutes, small seconds and the date.

I am sorry Monochrome, but as nice as this watch is (or can be) it should NOT be photographed with a formal attire like the pics taken here. This a casual/sports watch.
And you are a fashion expert?
Is this available in the USA?
Ed
It’s for sale online and in Bucherer boutiques.
Looked wrong because of the strap I think, with a nice leather it would be ok.
