Piaget’s CEO mr. Philippe Léopold-Metzger Talks About 140 Years Piaget and the Altiplano 900P
It was 1874 when Piaget started their business and what many people do not know, is that Piaget started as a movement manufacture. For the first years (or decades) they exclusively made movements. When we look at Piaget today we see an all-round company with a specialism in Haute Joaillerie and Haute Horlogerie and of course a fruitful combination between these two. Piaget’s CEO Mr. Philippe Léopold-Metzger talks about 140 years Piaget and the new Altiplano 900P, the world’s thinnest manual wind wrist watch.
Some facts: in the last 15 years, Piaget developed 35 new calibers, of which 23 ultra-thin. In 2010 Piaget created the world’s thinnest wrist watch with an automatically wound movement: the Altiplano automatic. The case measures 43mm in diameter and only 5.25mm in height, while the movement measures a mere 2.35mm in height! For 2014, Piaget’s 140 anniversary, they reveal the world’s thinnest wrist watch with a manually wound movement: the Altiplano 900P (see here).
Congratulation on the 140th Anniversary, Piaget, and our compliments on the way to celebrate this!

Your service department is a joke. They have had a Piaget watch belonging to my wife four times shortly to be five over two years. It would appear they are totally unable to make it work for more than one month. We are sick and tired of trying to deal with them, As you are Mr Piaget. Can you help. If the answer is no we will try Watchdog.
A. Peirson.
