Grönefeld Parallax Tourbillon

If you’re a long-time reader of Monochrome Watches, you might remember our Weekly Watch Photo – a weekly celebration of the beauty of horology, captured in the most stunning, awesome, jaw-dropping photos. Today we’re bringing you a bit of a ‘Weekly Watch Photo revisited’ and we add two, really excellent, articles about the new Grönefeld Parallax Tourbillon

Beginning of this year, Ian Skellern and Elizabeth Doerr, started their blog Quill & Pad (yes it’s about watches) and soon they asked Joshua Munchow to join them. Joshua is Quill & Pad’s “resident nerd-writer” as he labels himself. The other day he did a magnificent article on one of my favourite new watches of this year, the Grönefeld Parallax Tourbillon. Click through to read his brilliant write-up: Copernicus, alignment-shift, and the Grönefeld Parallax Tourbillon: a nerd story.

The second article I mentioned in this article’s intro, is written by Charles Sutanto, on another new blog about watches, called Deployant. Peter Chong, another very talented photographer, who also appeared in our Weekly Watch Photo before, started Deployant earlier this year. He runs the blog together with friends and collectors Charles, Gavin and Kevin. Charles gives a very clear description of the technical aspects of the Grönefeld Parallax Tourbillon, that really helps laymen to understand everything about this highly technical timepiece. And we end with 16 stunning photos of an equally stunning timepiece! All photos are made by Edwin Heusinkveld, who’s photos have appeared in the Weekly Watch Photo on more than one occasion. Besides a very talented photographer, Edwin is also moderator of the A. Lange & Söhne forum at Timezone.com.
