SIHH 2018 – Patrick Pruniaux of Ulysse Nardin, On The New Collection

The SIHH 2018 has closed its doors yesterday, however we still have some videos to share with you. One of them concerns Patrick Pruniaux, the recently appointed CEO of Ulysse Nardin, who is presenting the new collection… And there were some novelties, which look at many of the brand’s specialities: innovation, heritage and erotic watches (parental advisory, explicit content…)

First watch presented by Patrick Pruniaux is to be seen as a cool entry-level option, the Torpilleur Military, a vintage take on the classical Marine Chronometer collection. Second – and this one deserve some attention – is the Freak Vision, a brand new take on an iconic collection, which incorporates several of the innovations introduced in 2017 on the InnoVision 2. Superb display, innovative winding mechanism, technical escapement and a new design, slimmer and more modern… Well done.

Last but not least is the Voyeur, an erotic watch with automatons on the dial… depicting quite an explicit scene. Besides the surprise of the show displayed on the dial (some will hate, some will be fascinated) don’t forget that such animations rely on a very complex mechanism, linked to a minute repeater. Ulysse Nardin is one of the few brands to master such automatons.

All in all, Ulysse Nardin has presented an interesting collection, covering multiple aspects of the brand’s technical and visual portfolio.
