The first full ceramic Tudor Black Bay is ready for Only Watch!
The Tudor Black Bay collection is a never-ending success. This model has already appeared in multiple materials – steel, PVD-coated steel, bronze, two-tone – without talking about the multiple designs, complications and size options. One concept that Tudor hasn’t explored yet is ceramic. Things are about to change, as for Only Watch 2019 the brand introduces the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic One, the first BB in this modern material.
This new piece – keep calm, because at the moment it is a one-off prototype – is the first of the Black Bays (and there are a lot already) to be designed in lightweight, scratch-resistant ceramic. Being a tool watch first and foremost, the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic One is presented in matte black ceramic, with a bead-blasted finish. The case retains the classic BB proportions, meaning a 41mm diameter.
Following this theme, the caseback, bezel and crown are PVD-coated and the bezel insert features sunray-brushed ceramic with an engraved diving scale. The full-black theme also applies to the dial, which retains the classic Black Bay layout, but in matte black with darkened hour markers and snowflake hands with black luminescent material with a green glow. The final touch is a new hybrid black alligator leather and rubber strap.
Inside the case is the same movement as other 41mm BB divers, the manufacture calibre MT5602, here visible through a sapphire caseback (new to this model) and with a blackened rotor.

The main question… does this mean we will soon see a Tudor Black Bay in ceramic released by the brand as a standard piece…? Knowing that the two previous unique watches were trailblazers for future models, this is highly possible!
