In 2015, in the frame of its 260th anniversary, Vacheron Constantin launched a beautiful mono-pusher chronograph tourbillon housed in a cushion-shaped case, the Harmony. The watch was powered by the Calibre 3200. This superb movement now returns in a classic case, a new but no less beautiful attire… Meet the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Chronograph Tourbillon.
The Traditionnelle Chronograph Tourbillon is classic Vacheron Constantin, with a twist. Although this new model combines two traditional complications, these are presented in a truly original way. Rather than appearing on the lower part of the dial, its tourbillon regulator is unusually positioned at 12 o’clock. The chronograph is a mono-pusher with a 45-minute register at 3 o’clock. The power reserve indication creates a counterpoint to the tourbillon at 6 o’clock.
The model is presented in an elegant 42.5mm pink gold case. Its aesthetics are coherent with the codes of the Traditionnelle collection with a silvered opaline dial, a railroad minute track, dauphine-type hours and minutes hands, étagé case and lugs, and a fluted caseback.
Turning the watch over, the exhibition caseback offers an unimpeded view of the hand-wound calibre 3200. This sophisticated chronograph mechanism displays its traditional architecture with a horizontal clutch and a column-wheel. The use of a “friction” technique for the clutch mechanism aims at ensuring smooth activation of the function, preserving it from excessive wear over time and avoiding potential stuttering of the chronograph hand when it is activated. The mono-pusher chronograph function features an all-or-nothing activation system which prevents the chronograph mechanism from engaging when insufficient pressure is exerted on the pusher.
The Calibre 3200 is regulated by a one-minute tourbillon whose carriage is inspired by the Maltese cross (the emblem of the Maison). The balance wheel ticks at a slow 18,000 vibrations per hour. The power reserve is of 65 hours. Last, the movement is manufactured in compliance with the Geneva Seal and its finish includes Geneva stripes, circular graining and chamfering.
The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Chronograph Tourbillon is worn on a dark brown alligator leather strap. It is fitted with a pink gold Maltese cross-shaped folding buckle. Price is set at EUR 227,000. For more information, please visit www.vacheron-constantin.com.

Would have absolutely loved to see a Traditionnelle monopusher chronograph with subdials at 9 and 3 without a tourbillon. Oh well.
@gav, I am with you… this is one of the cool new watches by VC but it would have been even better without the tourbillon and with a second chrono subdial.
