Vintage Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox International
When Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Memovox International, earlier this year, I had no idea it had an ancestor. However while browsing Ebay last night, I found a beautiful vintage version of the Memovox International. I never saw the old version before, but it looks great. Check it out.
At SIHH 2010 Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Master Memovox International, originally created for the brand’s 125th anniversary in 1958 and also known as the Memovox Worldtimer. The alarm disk on both Memovox versions features different cities and regions. Besides this, the brand name on the dial is probably the only similarity.
The new version is fitted with calibre 956, featuring a large free-sprung balance and a winding rotor on ceramic ball bearings that needs no lubrication or maintenance. Inside the vintage Memovox Worldtimer ticks of course another movement (calibre 2612.1).
The new limited edition Memovox International has a diameter of 40mm, while the vintage version has a diameter of only 33mm. Of course there are much more differences. Just look at the shape of the lugs, the more pronounced crowns, the addition of a date on the new version and I could go on.
I really like the vintage version a lot. Hope the new owner will enjoy this magnificent piece as well. Click here to go to the Ebay Auction.
