Vacheron Constantin releases three special edition to celebrate their first boutique in the US. One the three is a New York Limited Edition of the Historiques American 1921… and we found the original version of this gorgeous re-edition!

Earlier Vacheron Constantin already launched the Overseas Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, exclusively for boutiques. Yesterday we received news they launch three limited editions, exclusively for the new Vacheron Constantin Boutique in New York, located on the corner of Madison and 64th Street. The Historiques American 1921 Boutique New York model is limited to… you already guesed it, 64 pieces.

We already wrote extensively about the first re-issue of the Historique American 1921 that was released in 2008 and one of the original 12 pieces of the Historique American 1921  that one of our readers inherited! This vintage model shows more resemblance with this new Historique American 1921 Boutique NY model, than with the ‘normal’ Historique American 1921 that was released in 2008.

Here is a photo of the original vintage timepiece that shows the incredible resemblance with the hour markers and hands. Also check out the ‘rail track’ chapter ring and the small markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12 and the fatter sticks at the other hours! The original version also features the crown at the 1 o’clock position and even has similar lugs. Although this resemblance, the vintage example is smaller and has the seconds sub dial positioned at the 6 o’clock position. Currently this vintage beauty is waiting for a full movement service (dial and hands are to stay ‘untouched’) and when that’s ready the owner intends to sell this 90 year old rare timepiece. We will keep you updated on this gorgeous vintage beauty!

The new model has the same movement as the re-issue Vacheron Constantin released in 2008, the hand-wound caliber 4400, that is entirely developed and manufactured  in-house. Caliber 4400 bears the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva, and indicates hours, minutes and small seconds. It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and has an approximately 65-hour power reserve.

The Historique American 1921 Boutique New York comes in an 18K yellow gold case and the dial sports (according to the press release) beige-colored Arabic numerals and a small seconds sundial positioned at 3 o’clock. The sandblasted dial has the same black-painted ‘rail track’ chapter ring as the vintage piece. The case-back is hand-engraved with the unique number of the watch as well as the inscription: “Madison and 64th”.

The Historiques American 1921 Boutique New York model is issued in a 64-piece limited edition and delivered in a special leather presentation box. Now that is a magnificent Boutique version and we envy everyone who has the opportunity to add this one to his (or her) collection!

More information about this Historique American 1921 Boutique New York can be found on the Hour Lounge. This is Vacheron Constantin’s own ‘in-house’ forum, where you can also see  the other two Boutique New York Limited Editions. There is a gorgeous Patrimony Traditionelle Boutique New York Piece Unique (tourbillon, perpetual calendar and minute repeater!!) and an Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Boutique New York that is limited to 20 pieces. The latter is a blue dial version of the Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar that Vacheron Constantin released last month and which is exclusively for the VC boutiques around the world.

  1. Absolute gorgeous model and superb idea to re-release it,
but if I had the choice between this model, or the current non LE,
    I am not sure yet.
