Weekly Watch Photo – Hautlence HL05

When it comes to extremely beautiful photos of beautiful watches, it is like with almost everything else in the world. Someone started, another person liked the idea and started doing something similar and slowly more and more starting doing the same. Not exactly the same of course and that’s a good thing, because every photographer – professional or talented amateur – has his/her own style. When I think back I can only think of two persons who frequently amazed watch enthusiast with their brilliant photos, online that is!

I can actually only think of two who shared their brilliant photos online and they were actually the first to start something that we’ve grown accustomed to. Now-a-days we’re treated with the visual watch candy shot by star photographers – like Guy Lucas de Peslouan, Ming Thein and Mike Melia – and others like Watch Anish or extremely talented amateurs like Edwin Heusinkveld, Marcus Behnke, Gary Getz and others. These two persons are Jocke (see here for the photo that totally blew me away) and Geo Cramer.

While Geo is also known as über-stylishman of the world, he is mainly known as Cartier connoisseur pur sung. His passion for this brand inspired me and I believe also many others! With his articles about the rich history of this brand and the strong aesthetic coherence, and his always beguiling photos of Cartier timepieces, he showed us how attractive Cartier’s timepieces are. And of course we have used Geo’s photos a lot, like in our recent story about the Extraordinary models of the Cartier Tank collection.

Despite his almost one-brand passion (and collection), Geo also has a weak spot for some of the high-end independents. Like Hautlence…. and today we’ll focus on photos Geo made of his own Hautlence HL05. Here it is pictured with my Sarpaneva Korona K1.

Geo’s style can be easily recognized and I’m sure that many people who frequented the Friday wrist scan on The Purist and Timezone, immediately recognized Geo’s photos. Hey, I was even looking forward to every Friday, just to see what he photographed. Geo’s style is defined by beautiful close-ups, stylish bokeh, and the combination with men’s accessories. Maybe he can best be described as the precursor Watch Anish.
