Seeing the beautiful photo below was enough reason to write about the Seiko Titanium Samurai. A beast of a dive watch of from the PROSPEX range and is only available as JDM – Japan Domestic Model.

The JDM are popular among dive watch enthusiasts and so is this Seiko PROSPEX Automatic 200M SBDA001, also referred to as the Titanium Samurai. The PROSPEX collection has more very collectible Seiko dive watches, like the Seiko SBDC001 “Sumo” and the Seiko SBDX001 Marinemaster.

The photo was made by Jason Recliner, a member of Timezone UK, and posted in the Friday wrist scan post.

The Seiko PROSPEX Automatic 200M SBDA001 Titanium Diver, or Titanium Samurai, was released in March 2004 and was available for the list price of 42,000 JPY. Inside ticks the automatic movement,  caliber 7S25, that has a power reserve of 41 hours. The titanium case measures 42 mm in diameter, 13.7 mm in height and is water proof to a depth of 200 meters.

  1. One of a kind Seiko diver. The current S/S rendition of the Samurai doesn’t come even close. Have both but wear my SBDA001 most of the time. It’s also smaller than the new S/S edition.

  2. How much smaller is the original Ti version vs the SS one please? Mostly interested in the lug to lug
    Thanks
