Weekly Watch Photo – Speake-Marin Piccadilly
This weeks Weekly Watch Photo is my newest watch, a Speake-Marin Piccadilly. Attached on a vintage strap made by Kostas, it will accompany me during my trip to Baselworld.
This Speake-Marin Piccadilly is one of the last of its kind. The last years Peter Speake-Marin has introduced the Marin-1 and Marin 2 Thallasa and these older models are slowly running out of production. I’m happy (slight understatement) that I was able to get one of my dream watches. This Piccadilly is Peter Speake-Marin’s first ‘production’ wrist watch and his original Piccadilly design. This is what makes it such a strong design.
The gorgeous strap is made by Kostas. After seeing Peter Speake-Marin post a photo of his own Piccadilly on a Kostas strap, I felt this was a great combination, so I asked Kostas to make a strap for my Piccadilly. The most difficult part of ordering this strap was selecting the hide Kostas should use for the strap. All hides can be seen in Kostas’ Photobucket.
A 38mm stainless steel case, an enamel dial with roman numbers and those gorgeous typical Speake-Marin hands. Don’t you just love it? I find the huge lugs and robust diamond shaped crown a nice and suitable twist to the classic design elements. And although this watch is Speake-Marin’s original design, you will find all these typical design elements in all of his watches.
One last photo to enjoy…
You can find more information about Speake-Marin’s new watches, the two new (in-house developed) movements and more about this charming and very gifted watchmaker on the Speake-Marin website and his Facebook page.

Thank you very much, Geo!
Nice! The photo composition of the Moleskin, Montblanc and watch looks familiar 😉
