Brellum Pilot Power Gauge

Proud to represent the 4th generation of watchmaker in the Swiss Jura near Porrentruy, Sebastien Muller launched his own brand Brellum a few years ago with the idea of offering high-quality timepieces sold directly to clients. In just a few years, he has managed to create a loyal and growing community by offering fairly-priced watches and creating a relationship with many of his clients. Among the Brellum releases, a couple of limited editions of the Duobox Chronograph powered by the Valjoux 7750 with power reserve indicator sold out immediately. After 3 years of absence, this movement is back and is now sporting a cool pilot’s watch attire. Meet the Brellum Pilot Power Gauge LE.1.

To create Pilot Power Gauge limited edition, Sébastien Muller equipped his clean and well-executed Duobox chronograph with characteristic pilot watch features. The domed black dial with recessed azurés counters stands out with high-contrast luminescent applied numerals and markings. The B-Uhr-inspired triangular index at 12 o’clock with two dots on either side aims at allowing you to immediately figure out the 12 o’clock indication in relation to the upright orientation of the dial. The black hands are fitted with luminescent material in the same old radium colour as the dial indications.

At 41.8mm in diameter, the vintage-inspired case comes in steel or black DLC-coated steel (316L, DIN 1.4435). It features mushroom-type push-pieces and is equipped with domed scratch-resistant glare-proofed box sapphire crystals on both sides of the case. The front one protects the dial. The one on the back allows you to discover the chronograph movement. This unusual but well-thought option proves to offer great wearing comfort and allows for a rather lithe case band for a Valjoux powered chronograph. The water resistance is rated at 50m.

The watch is powered by the automatic Brellum BR-750-PR, a movement based on the tried-and-tested Valjoux 7750 architecture. It comes with the characteristic 6-9-12 layout with the added functionality of a power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock. Running at 4Hz, it boasts 48 hours of autonomy when fully wound. The precision of each watch is attested by a certificate from the COSC, the Swiss chronometer testing institute. Visible through the exhibition caseback, the movement is decorated with Geneva stripes, perlage and blued screws. Displaying a small plane seen from behind, the blackened Brellum Pilot LE.1 openwork rotor is inspired by plane coordinators, instruments that allow pilots controlling their aircraft. Each rotor is personalized with the watch’s individual limited-edition number (x/33).
