Norqain Adventure Neverest GMT Watches

In August 2021, we saw the first models of the Norqain Adventure Neverest line. The new collection, named Neverest, kickstarted the brand’s charitable partnership with the Butterfly Help Project to support schooling for the children of Sherpas in Nepal. Today, the brand that makes watches for outdoor adventures expands its Neverest line with three new sporty GMT models with a variety of strap options, including a vegan-certified rubber NATO strap. Like other Norqain watches, the GMTs are equipped with an ultra-robust, COSC-certified automatic calibre made in collaboration with movement manufacturer Kenissi.

Three colours, one cause

The three Norqain Adventure Neverest GMT watches share a 41mm case size with a height of 14.94mm; two are housed in stainless steel cases with polished and satin-brushed finishings, while the third comes in a steel case with black DLC coating. Fitted with a bidirectional rotating bezel with a knurled edge and a 24-hour scale, the two steel models feature a black ceramic ring with white markings. The third DLC-coated model has a matching DLC-coated bezel with light grey markings.

Although all three models have a black dial with the hallmark Norqain pattern and date window at 3 o’clock, they feature a dynamic splash of colour – royal blue, forest green or sunset orange – on the inner 24-hour GMT ring from 18:00 to 06:00. The remaining hours on the bezel are set against a white background. The two-tone bezel clearly denotes night from daytime hours. The central arrow-tipped GMT hand echoes the colour of the inner bezel and is filled with XI Super-LumiNova, just like the applied indices and the central hour, minute and seconds hands. Solid crown guards ensure the 100m water-resistance of the case that also features the signature plate on the left side of the case that can be personalised with an engraving.

Like the first Neverest three-hand models, 10% of the earnings from the sale of the GMT watches will be donated to the Butterfly Help Project created by Norbu Sherpa and Andrea Sherpa-Zimmermann. The organisation supports the families and children of Sherpas who have lost their lives, guiding climbers through the Himalayan mountains and to the top of Mount Everest. The money will be used to help at least 50 children get access to education by paying for school fees, classroom material, books, uniforms and athletic equipment.

The Kenissi COSC-certified calibre has a sturdy construction to ensure the movement is protected during high-impact sports. The movement in these new Norqain Adventure Neverest GMT has a jumping hour mechanism to set the local time and change the date forwards or backwards at any time of the day without losing a second. The sapphire crystal caseback reveals Norqain’s double-N logo on the rotor. Beating a frequency of 28,800vph, the barrel can store up to 70 hours of power reserve.

Models and Pricing

The two steel Neverest GMT models can be ordered with three different straps: a steel bracelet with a folding clasp (CHF 3,730), a striped rubber NATO strap (CHF 3,590) to match the colour of the GMT section on the dial or a Flex fabric strap (CHF 3,530). The stripey NATO rubber strap is produced by BIWI, a Swiss leader in the production of innovative vegan-certified rubber. The DLC-coated Adventure Neverest GMT (not photographed here) comes with the same options but at a slightly higher price: CHF 4,240 for the steel bracelet, CHF 3,950 for the orange and black stripey NATO rubber strap and CHF 3,870 for the Flex fabric strap.

  1. Que belleza de calibre se observa por la ventana trasera. Muy conseguida las formas.

  2. Awesome “micro brand” with, in my mind, a excellent price/performance ratio thanks to Kenissi workhorse
