Sarpaneva did it again! He incorporated his famous moon phase/face in the K0 Dive Watch, that was officially released earlier this year. The new Korona K0 Wuoksi features the signature moon phase indication in very unique way and a see-through case back that reveals a new winding rotor.

Wearing the Korona K0 was a convincing experience, both in wearing very comfortable despite its size and in design. I can only imagine that the new K0 Wuoksi is at least as satisfying, especially with its very nicely and originally integrated moon phase indicator!

Like with all Sarpaneva timepieces, inside ticks the reliable Soprod caliber A10, that is modified by Stepan Sarpaneva. The movement, with automatic winding, ticks at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and has a 42-hour power reserve. The movement’s mainplate is modified to incorporate the phases of the moon indication. Above the 12 o’clock position a disk with the sliding night sky covers or opens the face of the moon.

The diver’s bezel of the Korona K0 had to make place for the moon phase complication that finds its place in this special edition. The K0 Wuoksi also introduces a special skeleton winding rotor, also depicting Sarpaneva’s signature moon face. The design looks great and integrating the moon phase indication and opening the case back looks absolutely stunning. I think Sarpaneva did an excellent job on the new K0 Wuoksi!

The Korona K0 Wuoksi’s stainless steel case measures 46 mm in diameter and is 11.2 mm thick. The 2.5 mm thick sapphire crystal with multi anti-reflection coating (only on the inside) adds to the water resistance of no less then 300 meters. Sarpaneva introduced a newly designed screw-down crown first in the Korona K0 and it also features on the new K0 Wuoksi.

The dial is either DLC or TiN coated stainless steel with SuperLuminova indices. The intruiging moon face that peeks from the behind the dial, can be made in copper, bronze, silver or gold. The hands are rhodium-plated, again with SuperLuminova to improve low-light visibility. As for strap choices, there are the options of rubber, alligator or frog skin.
