Spotted President Elect Joe Biden Rolex Datejust 41 Black Dial Jubilee bracelet 126300

The watches worn by Joe Biden while he served as the 47th Vice President of the United States, or during his campaign for the 2020 presidential election, have been widely discussed around the web – think about his Seamaster Professional 300m, his Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional or even a Seiko chronograph. However, something unknown recently appeared on Biden’s photos during his speeches as President-Elect. Somehow, a Jubilee bracelet was visible under his cuff, leaving not much doubt on the provenance of his watch. But today we have the confirmation; there’s something new on the wrist of the future President of the United States and it’s a Rolex Datejust 41 with blue dial. All credits are for our resident watch-spotter Nick (@niccoloy on Instagram) for breaking the mystery. Will it be his watch of choice for the inauguration in a couple of days…?

Both photos above were taken in Wilmington, Delaware, on January 08, 2021, during one of Biden’s speeches as President-Elect. As said, a Jubilee bracelet is here clearly visible, leaving no doubt on the fact that the watch Biden is wearing is a Rolex. However, there are more than a couple of Rolex models that are worn on this bracelet – to say the least. With these photos only, it was hard to properly identify the watch, which we (and in particular our watch-spotter Nick) somehow anticipated to be a Datejust.

It took a look on a rather surprising Twitter account to finally have the confirmation of what exact model Joe Biden was recently sporting… Thanks to @TheOvalPawffice, the official account of Champ, Major and Winston Biden, the so-called DOTUS (dogs of the United States), we can see Joe Biden pausing next to Champ, with a clear view of the watch, which we can now identify as a Rolex Datejust 41 ref. 126300, a steel model with smooth bezel, a Jubilee bracelet and a blue dial with applied baton markers.

As Inauguration Day is getting closer – in two days from now, January 20, 2021 – the question remains open on what watch will the future President of the United States will be wearing? Traditionally, US Presidents wear a Vulcain Cricket watch, and we know that Biden owns one. But who knows, maybe the Datejust will be on his wrist. Update: Biden was indeed wearing this watch for Inauguration Day.

Biden, an Omega owner too

Often matched with its casual full-denin style and aviator sunglasses, Biden has been spotted on a regular basis wearing an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional – most probably a reference 3750.50, according to the steel bracelet. For instance, the photo below by InStyle shows the watch in full glory.

Also showing the future president’s love for Omega, Biden has regularly been spotted with his Seamaster Professional 300m “Bond Watch” when he was serving as Vice President under the Obama administration, as seen below in 2009.

  1. Rolex and Omega are solid watches. Hopefully Mr. Biden’s presidency (I’m not American) will be as solid as the timepieces he wears. Thanks Monochrome for the watch spotting post.

  2. All these “Spotted” features are so predictable. Challenge yourselves, Monochrome!!

Next time, I want to see a firefighter wearing a Patek while on duty, and a pop star wearing Casio F-91W at an awards show.

  3. @brice Then please stop posting politicians. No politician cares about their watch. It’s simply a tool, used to portray a facade.

  4. The Speedmaster looks really good on him. I just picked up a new 1861 Speedmaster today, so kind of fun to seeing it in this article on the same day.

I wonder if he’ll continue wearing these watches once he’s in office since it seems like all the US Presidents wear something relatively cheap, at least until they leave office (e.g. Clinton kept the good stuff for himself until his term ended).

  5. @Matti – “I want to see a firefighter wearing a Patek while on duty” …

That’s funny! I’d like to see that, too.

  6. What’s up with you folks?
He wears a watch or more and another wrote an article about it.
That’s what this is about here.

tomorrow it may be whoever else, yes, a fireman, so what, why not.

a person that wears multiple watches can’t be just a timeteller-tool wearer.

To me most G-shockers are shockingly less interesting, still people write articles about.
    Why not, fine.

So get lost with all your politics nonsense. It’s watch home here.

  7. Good solid choices; but arguably lacking in imagination. If Rolex how about a step into the new range with a Sky Dweller

  8. Thanks for this post! It‘s always interesting to see which watch well-known people wear.

  9. Nickname of this Rolex 126300 with black dial is the ‘ Celtic’.
As Celtic is the codename used by the secret service when they refer to Biden.

  10. What a marvellous article. Glad to see Joe has his feet firmly planted on the ground. The future POTUS wears a watch we can all afford, or save up for.

  11. Biden has some nice watches. The Date Just is an excellent choice – a watch which is dignified enough for his office without being too flashy or über-expensive. As for the guy himself, well at a personal level he’s probably a nice old grandfather figure. (Even though I couldn’t possibly have supported his _party_ if I were American.)
