There seems to become a new trend. Watch brands are making really lovely photos of their timepieces, like the IWC photos of the Big Pilot’s Watch we showed. Now we show you some new official photos A. Lange & Söhne made of the Lange 1 Timezone Piece Unique for Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este that we featured last week.

The photos are made inside an old BMW 507 Roadster, a gorgeous classic and possibly one of my favorite cars of all times! Lange & Söhne took the ‘piece unique’ and draped it over a leather driver’s glove on the steering wheel.

In the previous article you can read all details of the watch, however I would like to say some more words about the functions of the watch. Like the name already indicates it is a watch with an extra time zone indication. The main hour and minute hand are positioned at the left side of the dial, with a small seconds hand (of blued steel) towards the 6 o’clock position of that sub dial.

The second time zone is indicated in a smaller sub dial, towards the lower right of the dial. An hour and minute hand indicate the time in another time zone and a small arrow shaped hand indicates whether it’s day time or night time in that time zone. A similar day/night indicator can also be found in the main time sub dial, which makes it easy when setting the time!

An outer ring shows the main cities in the 24 time zones around the globe. Two pushers on the left side of the case enable the wearer to adjust the second time zone together with the time zone ring. And on this ‘piece unique’ the city of the GMT+1 (C.E.T. or Central European Time) is Como, the place where the Concorso d’Eleganza took place.

I’m glad watch brand are more and more showing their watches in a way that is really appreciated by watch lovers. Of course the typical official press photos are also beautiful, however these ‘mood’ photos absolutely add to the yearning of owning these timepieces.

The person who won this extraordinary timepiece is also the lucky owner of an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS 6th Series Coupé with a Figoni body dating back to 1933, that won the Concorso d’Eleganza! Gosh… aren’t it true beauties? Both the car and the Lange 1 Time Zone!
